Stray Dogs and Cats in Taiwan

The problems facing animal shelters in Taiwan are serious. Despite the end of the euthanasia policy for stray dogs and cats in 2017, a number of problems remain. The capacity of animal shelters is severely lacking, which means that stray animals have to face even more difficult conditions. Despite the change in policy, the stray population has not been effectively controlled and legal shelters have limited capacity and are underfunded. The failure of these shelters to provide adequate care and environment has led to increasing disease and mortality among stray animals, further compounding the problem.

To address this problem, some individuals voluntarily take in homeless stray animals. In Taiwan, it is very difficult to set up legal animal shelters. Therefore, these individuals must set up private shelters at their own expense to provide food and medical treatment for stray animals. Some people, to provide a safe and comfortable place for these stray animals to live, spend all their income and even sell their homes. Despite their best efforts, these people can hardly afford the monthly expenses required. We are looking forward to joining forces with these private shelters to help feed them. Food is a way of life for us, but it's a luxury for stray animals. "Born to be Loved" is not only our motto but also our fundamental belief in every life, including stray animals.

HOW CAN YOU HELP ?

In Taiwan, stray dogs and cats face serious challenges to survival and are abused by many people. Some add poison to their food, others use cruel methods like trapping. These injured strays may be permanently disabled or have limbs amputated, making it even harder for them to be adopted and end up in shelters for the rest of their lives. In addition, some stray animals are abandoned because they are born sick or have been born sick. Private shelters have a large intake of these animals, but the cost of their care is huge.
We are pleased to support these private shelters by purchasing food. Your efforts will help provide a safe place for stray dogs and cats. You can support these animals with a one-off donation or a recurring monthly donation and your contribution will help to keep these animals alive and well.
Born to be Loved, Thank you for giving these stray animals a chance to be loved.
